AER ARRAN TO FLY FROM LONDON SOUTHEND AIRPORT

Aer Arann plans to fly to two daily return flights to Galway and Waterford in Ireland from London Southend airport in Essex, UK from March 27.

The Irish airline is now owned by the Stobart Group, which owns Southend airport.

"The people of Essex and Greater London will now have Ireland on their doorstep with convenient flight timings and direct access to two of Ireland's most visited destinations," the airline said in a statement. "Passengers from Ireland will benefit from the convenience of a ten minute transfer from plane to train and frequent, affordable trains to Liverpool Street Station operating from London Southend's new railway station."

Aer Arann CEO Paul Schütz said: "This is a very significant announcement for Aer Arann and we are delighted to team up with London Southend Airport.
