Aeronautical Engineers, Inc. (AEI) has selected Jacksonville, Florida-based Flightstar Aircraft Services, LLC as an authorized conversion centre. The current success of AEI’s passenger-to-freighter conversion products, which include the B737-400SF, MD80SF, CRJ200 SF and will soon include the B737-800SF, require that additional conversion capacity be added to handle the present market demand.
AEI currently has four active Authorized Conversion Centers worldwide, which include Commercial Jet Inc., in Miami, Florida, Commercial Jet Services in Dothan, Alabama, KF Aerospace in Kelowna, B.C. Canada and Boeing Shanghai Aviation Services Co., Ltd., in Shanghai, PRC. In all, offering a total of 11 to 13 conversion lines for AEI at any one time.
Flightstar was chosen by AEI as the fifth Authorized Conversion Center based upon its experience in passenger-to-freighter modifications, in addition to offering a full lineup of maintenance service offerings. Flightstar will set up one line of passenger-to-freighter conversions at its Jacksonville facility for AEI beginning in May of this year with the commencement of a B737-400SF freighter conversion which is being modified for San Francisco-based Vx Capital Partners.
