AEGEAN is to expand its sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) uplift programme at Sweden’s Stockholm Arlanda and London’s Heathrow Airports, marking the beginning of the Greek national carrier’s SAF uplift expansion throughout its entire network ‘where available’.
As part of this expansion, AEGEAN’s Greek joint venture initiative with Motor Oil, Shell and MOH Aviation ‘has ensured the supply of significant quantity of SAF blend.’ AEGEAN CEO Dimitris Gerogiannis added: “It is a real challenge to remain committed to the industry decarbonization goals while there are existing supply limitations, yet through such collaborations and partnerships we remain optimistic that we will be able to continue expanding our operations while reducing our CO2 emissions”.
After securing a SAF supply for its operation in Oslo Gardermoen airport at the end of last year, AEGEAN is also currently seeking opportunities to further expand its programme in other European airports.
