Aegean Airlines and Cyprus Airways are planning to announce a codeshare, reports local media. The official announcement will be made at a press briefing later this week. This partnership is expected to expand the range of destinations available to passengers of both airlines, providing them with enhanced travel options.
The agreement will enable customers to purchase tickets for flights operated by either airline with shared flight codes. The selected destinations will be announced during the press briefing.
The selection of destinations included in the codeshare arrangement and its implications on the flight offerings will be announced by executives of both airlines.
Aegean Airlines currently operates flights to 128 destinations with plans to expand to 165 destinations in 46 countries by the end of 2023 from their ten operational bases.
Aegean currently operates a fleet of 58 aircraft, including 41 Airbus A320s, 27 A320-200s and 14 A320neos and 17 Airbus A321 jets, 12 A321neos and five A321-200s.
The airline is planning to enhance its fleet by introducing new Airbus A320s and A321neos to reach a total of 76. Cyprus Airways offers services to 19 destinations across key European cities as well as the Middle East. The airline currently operates a fleet of three Airbus A320-200 jets.
