Adria Airways set deadline to submit restructuring plan

Slovenia's Adria Airways has ceased all its flights as of today (30th September).

The airline has struggled to return to profitability as it said it is "still leading active discussions with potential new owners and major creditors," stressing it remains dedicated in reaching a positive solution for all.

Adria Airways, a member of the Star Alliance, is the national carrier of Slovenia but is not going to receive financial support from the state, given its lack of strategy for returning to profitability.

During the weekend, the company maintained a connection to its most important hub in Frankfurt. The Airline operated on 28 and 29 September, respectively, with evening flights on route Ljubljana - Frankfurt - Ljubljana.

Adria Airways has been given a deadline of Wednesday, October 2 by The Slovenian Civil Aviation Authority to submit a restructuring plan. Failure to do so will mean a suspension of its Air Operators Certificate.

At this point a majority of Adria’s fleet has been repossessed, including all of its A319s and most of the CRJ-900s.
