Dublin-headquartered asset management company Acumen Aviation had a busy 2022, according to a January 12 statement reviewing its operations for the year.
A "key development" was the purchase by Adani Defence of Acumen's major shareholder, Air Works Group, Acumen said.
Lease management, structuring advisory, trading, and remarketing operations remained stable, Acumen said, despite the "prevailing winds" the industry was faced with.
"Although global asset transition activity remained commercially frustrated across the sector, the Technical and Asset Management (TAM) team, part of Acumen’s consultancy arm, continued to make confident strides and successfully secured a plethora of new clients across the globe, including some
new operators," the company explained.
The company had 24 aircraft on lease worldwide, with most funds backed by US and Japanese investors, and was giving investment tips. "During this period Acumen has also been mandated to provide strategic structuring advisory services for a fund based in Ireland, specifically regarding investments in P2F converted aircraft," Acumen said.
