ACG’s Hazy named Chief Procurement Officer

Steven Udvar-Hazy has been promoted to SVP Chief Procurement Officer at Aviation Capital Group. Hazy was previously the senior vice president in charge of OEM relations and market development and a member of ACG’s senior leadership team, where he was tasked with managing ACG’s relationships with all major aircraft and engine manufacturers as well as the evaluation, selection and purchasing of modern aircraft for ACG’s growing portfolio. Steve also oversees ACG’s engineering and new aircraft management departments, which includes setting the strategic direction for all new aircraft deliveries, new aircraft configuration projects and used aircraft reconfiguration engineering.

Prior to this role, Steve worked in ACG’s marketing department where he originated and managed lease transactions with airline customers located in Asia, Australia, New Zealand, Europe and North America.

In 2020, he was appointed by US Secretary of Transportation Elaine Chao to the Federal Aviation Administration’s Aviation Rulemaking Advisory Committee.

Serving on the Council of the Freeman-Spogli Institute for International Studies at Stanford University, Hazy is an ambassador for international policy research, teaching and outreach at the University. He also provides strategic advice to strengthen the Institute’s mission to teach, train and influence international policy.

Steve is a licensed pilot by the FAA and is type-rated on the Boeing 737.  He received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Stanford University and a Master of Business Administration degree from Stanford University Graduate School of Business.
