ACG orders 737-800SF with AEI

Aviation Capital Group (ACG) has placed a large order with Aeronautical Engineers, Inc. (AEI) for the 737-800SF conversion.  The deal includes 15 aircraft with options for an additional 15 freighters.  AEI will commence the conformity B737-800SF modification in 2016 and expects to receive FAA Supplemental Type Certification in 2017. To date, and accounting for recent firm orders and options, the potential orders for the AEI 737-800SF have now reached a total of 50 aircraft.

“ACG is a substantial player in the commercial aircraft leasing business, serving approximately 90 airlines in 40 countries,” said Roy Sandri, AEI president. “We are simply delighted that yet another high caliber global leasing company has demonstrated its trust in the AEI B737-800SF conversion offering.”

ACG’s CEO, Denis Kalscheur stated: “ACG has enjoyed a very successful partnership with AEI, converting six 737-400 aircraft from passenger to freighter.  The quality of the work, punctuality to schedule and flexibility to accommodate our operators exemplifies working together.   Even more impressive is the positive feedback from airlines about the performance of the planes after conversion.”

In October of 2014, AEI formally launched the B737-800SF passenger-to-freighter and combi program, in conjunction with the announcement of AEI finalizing an agreement with Boeing to license engineering data for the B737-800/-900 aircraft.  The AEI B737-800SF converted freighter will be able to accommodate eleven 88”x125” AAA full height containers or pallets and one AEP/AEH container for a total of 12 positions.  Depending upon the aircraft model and aircraft weight limits, the AEI B737-800SF will be able to carry a payload of up to 52,000 LB (23,587 KG). Additionally the AEI B737-800SF freighter will incorporate an 86” x 140” main cargo door and will include up to 5 supernumerary seats.
