ABM workers at Glasgow Airport receive 10% pay rise

Trade union Unite, which represents members in the UK and Ireland, has secured a new pay deal for around 60 cleaners employed by ABM at Glasgow Airport.

The deal was “overwhelmingly accepted by Unite members and represents a victory for the ABM cleaners in a long-running union campaign to have basic pay levels sustained above the real living wage,” said the union.

Unite general secretary Sharon Graham described the new deal as a “significant win”, adding: “This has ensured a double-digit pay rise for two years running”.

The union also intends to campaign for aviation workers “ahead of the busy summer period” across all Scottish airports.
