Turboprop lessor Abelo has successfully delivered a newly converted ATR72 cargo aircraft to Kenya's Renegade Air on May 23, 2024. It is the first ATR72 cargo conversion for Abelo.
""This project of converting the ATR72 into a cargo aircraft not only extends its useful life well beyond the typical 25 years but also reflects our commitment to innovative and sustainable aviation solutions,"" said Abelo CEO Stephen Gorman.
Renegade Air had decided to upgrade from the Dash8 aircraft to the larger ATR72 as it aims to enhance its operational capabilities and meet the increasing demand for cargo. It is set to commence operations with the aircraft immediately.
