AAR names Sarah Flanagan as interim CFO

AAR has appointed Sarah Flanagan as its interim CFO, effective December 11, 2025.

Flanagan currently serves as AAR’s VP of financial operations at AAR, and has previously served as Group CFO for Aviation Services, the company’s largest business unit.

Prior to joining AAR in 2012, she held various financial planning and analysis, controller, and Group CFO roles at Honeywell International, and worked as an auditor as PwC.

“We are fortunate to have a deep bench of strong talent at AAR, and Sarah brings vast industry knowledge and extensive experience across AAR’s global operations,” said John Holmes, chair, president and CEO of AAR.

“Sarah and I have worked closely during her 13 years at AAR, and I am excited she will lead our finance organisation during this interim period.”

Flanagan will replace Sean Gillen, who will depart from the company to “pursue another opportunity outside the aviation industry”.

“I want to thank Sean for his many contributions as CFO over the past seven years,” said Holmes.

“Sean’s experience has played a key role in executing on our strategy to reposition and enhance AAR’s portfolio to focus on higher growth, higher margin businesses over the last few years.”

Last month, AAR announced that it has acquired HAECO Americas in a $78 million all-cash transaction, creating a major force in the MRO sector.

The acquisition expands AAR's heavy maintenance footprint and accelerates the company's strategic objective to grow its Repair & Engineering segment.

HAECO Americas is currently the second-largest heavy maintenance provider in North America behind AAR.
