Eyeing future recruits, Hawaiian Airlines launches IT scholarship with Arizona State University

Hawaiian Airlines is to fund a US $100,000 scholarship for Hawaiian students to study at Arizona State University's W.P. Carey School of Business.

Starting in autumn 2023, the fund will support two students a year to the school's Information Systems programme, the airline said on January 10.

“Information technology touches every aspect of Hawaiian Airlines. We will continue to grow our technology team with a focus on improving our operations and the guest experience,” said John Jacobi, senior vice president and chief information officer at Hawaiian Airlines.

Jacobi said he hoped graduates funded by the scholarship would consider joining the airline's 300-strong IT team,

“We are incredibly grateful for this new scholarship to support our students from Hawai’i in partnership with Hawaiian Airlines,” said Ohad Kadan, dean of the W. P. Carey School of Business.
