American company 321 Precision Conversions, a joint venture between Aircraft Transport Services Group and Precision Aircraft Solutions, has received European Union Safety Agency (EASA) approval for the A321-200 freighter conversion. This follows existing Chinese and Malaysian authority approvals for its FAA supplemental type certificate (STC).
“We are proud to announce EASA has determined that our A321-200PCF met stringent EASA standards and has issued EASA STC 10083629,” said Gary Warner, president of 321 Precision Conversions. He added that this approval “provides European customers with the right cargo conversion option for this popular A321-200 freighter”.
The A321-200PCF provides 14 A-Code 88 x 125inch main deck positions and 10 ULD positions in the lower hold when equipped. Its standard payload is approx. 59,680lbs, with a total cargo volume of 7,963 cubic feet (1,400 more than the 737-800F). Capability is increased by decreasing the operating empty weight. No permanent ballast installation yields a lower fuel burn, lower carbon footprint and higher standard payload, notes the company.
