12 people have been injured on a Qatar Airways flight (QR018) from Doha to Dublin on May 26, 2024. The flight, serviced by a 787-9 aircraft, landed in Dublin in the afternoon, with six crew and six passengers reporting injuries. The flight experienced turbulence while airborne over Turkey.
Upon landing in Dublin, emergency services attended the scene to assess the injured.
""Eight passengers were subsequently taken to hospital,"" said Dublin Airport in a statement.
A Qatar spokesperson said: The matter is now subject to an internal investigation. The safety and security of our passengers and crew are our top priority.""
Dublin Airport said the return flight to Doha is ""scheduled to operate as normal this afternoon, albeit with a delay."" Other operations at Dublin Airport operated as normal following the event.
It follows turbulence on a Singapore Airlines' flight only days earlier on May 20, 2024, on a 777-300ER aircraft, resulting in the death of one British man.
