Some $1.2 million in $100 bills was stolen from Swiss International Airlines Flight 17, which arrived at New York's JFK International Airport from Zurich, Switzerland, on Saturday afternoon. The FBI is investigating the theft – the details of which remain unclear. The money was being transported in the cargo hold but upon landing, the shipment of cash was discovered to be $1.2 million short. The money was due to be delivered to the Federal Reserve, although media reports have stated that the money belonged to a U.S. bank that was transferring currency from offices in Switzerland to the U.S, passing through a Federal Reserve facility in New Jersey.
