London Luton airport staff employed by Menzies are to get a pay increase “worth more than 28%”, according to the Unite union. Over 200 workers, including baggage handlers and check in staff, will receive a pay hike of 20% backdated to 1 October 2022, Unite said, with a further 8.5% increase to kick in on February 1 2023, when overtime is to also go up from time-and-a-third to time-and-a-half. “This is an excellent deal for our Menzies members at Luton airport and was possible because they stood together in a union,” said Unite secretary general Sharon Graham.
