Average air cargo rates rose to a record high this year, during the first full week of September, according to data from WorldACD. The increase was boosted by a surge in tonnages from the Asia-Pacific region to North America and Europe. Average global spot rates increased by 6% to $2.85 a kilo during week 36, an increase of 30% when compared to the same week of 2023.
